How To Build A PC, Part 1
Getting a new computer is a very awesome experience. But the thing is, going to the store and seeing that big price tag on your soon-to-be new computer, isn’t a good experience at all. You must be thinking, “How do I cut down the costs?” Well, that’s a pretty easy question. Just build it yourself. “I’m too old” or “I might break something” aren’t good excuses. If an 11 year old (Me) with a very, very, often tendency to drop things can do it, so can you.
(Quick disclaimer, it is almost impossible to build a laptop, this article is only about building your own desktop PC) So why is this option cheaper? This option of building your own PC is cheaper because when someone pre-builds a PC for you, you have to pay money to them for building the PC. At the same time, the people who make the pieces need to make a profit, and they ask for more profit when they pre build the pc.
So first, what parts do you need? To decide that, you need to figure out a budget for your build. Find out a price that suits you. For me, I could spend up to 1,000 dollars, but then again, I did get around 50 dollars discount on the whole build on black friday. Figuring out how much your PC costs mostly comes down to what you are going to be doing on that pc. Let’s say you are a gamer. You most likely want the highest end system that you can build. This means that you get more frames per second, better effects, and just overall better performance. If you are an office worker, that just needs a computer to work, go in calls, and things like that, you might not need as high end of a PC, because that would just be wasting money. The basic parts that you need to build a gaming system in 2021 are the following:
Motherboard
CPU
GPU (Optional, will explain later)
RAM
Power Supply
Storage
Case
Monitor To display what is on the screen)
Operating system’
Input Device (Keyboard, mouse)
I know, that might be a lot to take in, but as you learn more and more about what these parts are, you will see that there aren’t many.
Second, building the PC. Here are some good videos to watch for learning how to build the pc:

The first step for building a pc is installing the CPU. First, unbox your motherboard. This is the main board in your computer that allows your computer to communicate with other parts in the PC. Then, you need your CPU. Make sure you don’t touch any of the pins under the CPU. This can damage it and it would be completely useless, so hold it on the sides. Find the tiny triangle on the corner, and move the lock on the CPU port on the Board up. Then, place your cpu in very carefully. Then, push the lock down. There! That is your first component in your PC installed. Next, your RAM. Watch one of the videos I listed above to learn which slots you put your ram into. Take your RAM sticks, and then unlock the locks on the sides of the slots that you are using. Put in your RAM sticks, and push them in. Then, lock. The next part you will install is your M.2 SSD. If you bought an M.2 SSD, then it’s time to install it. Remember, watch the videos I listed above. This is not a full tutorial. Find the notch on the SSD, and line it up with the notch on the board. Simply slide it under the thing that is holding it in, push it down on the other side, then screw. For the cooler, follow one of the videos I listed above. It is very hard to explain through words.
That’s the end of part one! Part two will come out in some time. Thanks for reading!
